MLK trip to the D?

Postby Longey » Fri Jan 13, 2017 2:38 pm

Some of us do not have to work on Monday and it's looking like it may stay dry, chilly yes, but dry.

I was thinking of riding down to Belle Isle to do a loop then stop at Batch Brewery for a refreshment and a snack before heading home.

38-40 miles, Pace will be dependent on the attendees but will be a no drop ride for sure, I will be the group leader and I will riding between 17-19mph just saying.

We can meet at Ferndale High school, which is located on Pinecrest just north of 8 mile in Ferndale at 9:45am, roll at 10:00.

Post up if your interested, it's either this or more Zwift..........

I think I can make this, and it sounds better than Zwift.

If you don't mind me being the caboose - would love to join! Something different definitely sounds good!

I am no where near that pace or mileage, but it sounds fun.

I'm still going to ride but will not make the pit stop at Batch, freezing rain is forecast around noon:) don't want to get caught in that so plan on a two hour there and back ride.

Better check the radar again. I'm out. Right now oak park is forecast to have freezing rain at 10:30.

Thanks for the tour of the 'D' Longey!
Happy to have the chance to get out!

Vegan! You were missed! Isn't the start (Ferndale) right around the corner from where you live?!

We took it easy - nobody wiped out...
Longey just exercised his right to show the drivers in Detroit to watch for cyclists! :)

Next time Longey. I was considering showing up but wimped out with the forecast. I have a bad history of road bikes and ice.

It was a little sketchy at the end but it was still a great ride, it certainly beat Zwift today:)

By the way, so disappointed I couldn't make this ride. I ended up having to work on this holiday. I'm glad Longey showed you all a good time!
