Ode To Roubaix - Saturday 9AM (4/7)

Postby Wiz » Tue Apr 03, 2018 12:48 pm

The weather out of state look frightful, so the plan is to explore some of my favorite routes/segments all in one ride. Plan is to roll from my place in South Lyon @ 9AM Saturday (4/7). We will head north towards Milford, before turning south and west. The turn around point will be the old bridge at the bottom of Baron Hills. From there, we will explore some Dirt Hammer and some of Cool Hand's fav's before working our way back to my place.
Post ride, we can head up to Draught Horse for some beverages and food. Here is the Strava route as I have envisioned. Let me know if you are interested. Planning 4ish hours of riding times (65 miles). You do the math for the pace. Invite your friends as this is an open ride.

i'll be there for sure. i'll even plan on leading a b group if anyone's nervous about not being able to keep up wiz's pace. i can't promise i won't get lost, but i'm familiar with most of these roads and the area in general.

I’m keeping an eye on the weather now. They are calling for a chance of accumulating snow going into Friday. This could totally change the ride. I’ll keep everyone posted as this weather develops.

South Hill road looked pretty messy when I crossed it on Grand River yesterday evening...

Thanks Ryan. If we get the 1-3” of snow tonight they are talking, the groads may be out of the question Saturday. Then I’ll just be riding pavement around ILRA and Kensington. I’ll make a final call by the team meeting tomorrow.

I’m still planning on riding. It’s gonna be cold (below freezing). We got enough snow to cover all the grass, but the roads were just wet this morning. I’ll be scouting out the groads later today, but I’m going out regardless. It could turn into more of a pavement ride if conditions are too gnarly on the groads.
